This Privacy Policy explains how Kelvin Designs ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information about users ("you") of the KD Lighting Decoder service ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

• Email address — used to create your account, authenticate you via magic-link sign-in, and send transactional emails about your account.
• Uploaded portraits — the images you submit for analysis. We store these so you can view your history of analyses. We do not use your uploaded images to train any AI model.
• Analysis results — the structured lighting-setup data the Service returns for each portrait you submit, retained alongside your account history.
• Billing information — handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number; Stripe stores it on our behalf and returns us only a customer reference identifier.
• Network metadata — IP address at signup and basic request logs, retained for security and abuse prevention.

How We Use Information

• To provide the Service: authenticate sign-ins, generate lighting analyses, show you your usage history, and bill your subscription.
• To send you transactional emails (sign-in links, billing receipts, account notifications). We do not send marketing email through this Service unless you separately opt in.
• To improve the Service: aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics may inform product decisions.
• To prevent abuse: rate-limiting, fraud detection, and enforcing the Terms of Use.

Sharing With Third Parties

We share information only with service providers strictly necessary to operate the Service:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Cloudflare — application hosting, storage, and network protection.
• Anthropic — the AI analysis is performed by Anthropic's Claude API. Your uploaded portrait is sent to Anthropic for the duration of one request and is not retained by Anthropic for model training under their API terms.
• SendGrid (Twilio) — transactional email delivery.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

Image Retention

Uploaded portraits and their analyses are retained for as long as you have an active account, up to a maximum of six months from the date of analysis. If you delete your account or cancel your subscription and remain inactive for six months, your uploaded portraits may be purged. You can request immediate deletion of any of your data by contacting us.

Your Rights

You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, or request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us at the address below.

Cookies and Sessions

We use a single HTTP-only session cookie (ld_sid) to keep you signed in. No third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics scripts are loaded.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
