By accessing or using the KD Lighting Decoder service ("the Service"), provided by Kelvin Designs ("we," "us"), you ("you," "the user") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The KD Lighting Decoder lets you upload a portrait photograph and receive an AI-generated analysis of the lighting setup, including inferred light positions, modifiers, ratios, camera settings, and post-processing recipe. The Service is intended for educational and professional reference use. The analyses are AI-generated estimates and may not exactly match the actual setup used to produce the original photograph.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure. We use magic-link authentication; anyone who can read your inbox can sign in to your account.
You retain all rights to any image you upload. By uploading an image, you grant us a limited license to process it through our AI analysis pipeline, store it within your account history, and display it back to you. We do not claim ownership of your uploads and do not use them to train AI models. Do not upload images you do not have the right to submit, or images that contain unlawful content, child sexual abuse material, or material that infringes another party's rights.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Subscription fees are charged in advance and automatically renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the Customer Portal accessible from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Each analysis consumes one credit. Subscription credits do not roll over between billing periods. Trial credits are granted to new accounts and do not renew.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make no warranty that the analyses produced are accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. The Service is an educational and creative tool — not a forensic, legal, or evidentiary tool.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kelvin Designs' total liability arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. In no event shall we be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Kelvin Designs is principally established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
